8TH SEMESTER: Design synthesis in a comprehensive capstone project. Cultivation of exploring contemporary issues in interior design and related topics and further developing a capstone design proposal to include design elements up to Design Development phase.
Park & 100 is focused on combining community support for mental health with the concept of ‘FLOW’ seen in art therapy. Every space designed with an open, immersive floorplan which engages community involvement and transparency using ‘FLOW’ as a driving factor for design. This is seen through inspiration from Surrealistic Art which has qualities that are similar to the concepts behind ‘FLOW’ such as automatism, layering, dream-like scenes and juxtaposition. These qualities influence all spatial arrangements and stylistic elements seen in the space through curved walls, vibrant materials and multi-use spaces which focus on flexibility; all which draw users into the building and promote community interaction. This project is designed to create a model that juxtaposes the negative mental health stigma and typical facility model through art and community involvement. |
